Hello, readers!
I understand that many of you have been waiting for more content on setting up a Bitcoin and Lightning Node. I apologize for the delay and wanted to provide you with an update on what's been going on and why the content is taking longer than expected.
This is a side project
Firstly, I would like to explain that this site is a side project for me. I have other commitments that take priority, including running my own consulting business—which is my primary source of income (gotta pay the bills, yo). Plus,as many of you know, the recent issues with the failing banking system (i.e., just google "Failing Banks March 2023") have affected many businesses, including mine and my clients. As a result, this has required me to put in extra hours and resources to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
Technical challenges
Additionally, I have been facing technical challenges that have distracted me from producing the subsequent posts. My website is not currently using a CMS, and I have been exploring the possibility of setting up a headless CMS. However, this is taking longer than anticipated because I am not a hardened developer, and I lack the necessary skills to complete this quickly. Nonetheless, I am making strides towards this endeavor and I understand that this holdup is frustrating for my readers as it is for me.
I am still committed
Despite the challenges, I want to assure you that I am still committed to providing you with high-quality content that is informative, accurate, and helpful in setting up your own Bitcoin and Lightning Node. I have been developing an outline and conducting additional research to ensure that the content I produce is useful and up-to-date.
Some resources
In the meantime, I would like to offer some resources that can help you in your journey towards setting up your own node (and managing your sovereignty).
- The Plebnet Wiki provides a comprehensive guide for getting started with Bitcoin, including setting up a node. They also have a Telegram group that you can join and get additional support.
- This article on bitcoin.org contains information about what a full node is in the context of Bitcoin. It explains that a full node is a computer that verifies transactions and blocks on the Bitcoin network and stores a complete copy of the blockchain. The page also provides information on the benefits of running a full node, including increased privacy and security. Additionally, it offers instructions on how to set up and run a full node for those interested in doing so.
- Bitcoin Magazine offers a step-by-step guide on how to set up a Lightning Network Node.
- This one, Operation Plan Bitcoin, is more about putting a bitcoin plan in place so that you can anticipate and prepare for various scenarios such as the emergence of Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), financial instability in the banking sector, your retirement, or significant unexpected life changes. I.e., work with a coach to get up to speed with Bitcoin, bitcoin, and your self-sovereignty. P.S. I'm not an affiliate, I just like what these guys are doing and wanted to share.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I understand the frustration of waiting for more content on setting up a Bitcoin and Lightning Node. I appreciate your patience and understanding as I work through my other commitments and technical challenges. I am committed to providing you with the best content possible, and I will keep you posted on any updates via nostr, so be sure to follow me there. Thank you for your continued support!
